The Resurgence of Neoclassicism: Parmigiani Fleurier Unveils the Toric Anniversary Collection

To celebrate three decades of horological mastery at Watches and Wonders 2026, Parmigiani Fleurier returns to its roots with the Toric Anniversary Collection. This trilogy is far more than a simple tribute; it is a profound reimagining of the very first watch designed by Michel Parmigiani in 1996. By blending the strict mathematical discipline of the Golden Ratio with an almost obsessive level of artisanal hand-finishing, the Maison has established a new “neoclassical” benchmark for the modern era.

The aesthetic soul of the collection lies in its dials. Moving away from traditional guilloché, Parmigiani has introduced a hand-hammered 18k gold surface for all three models. This technique involves a master artisan meticulously dimpling the gold plate in a 60-step process, creating a texture that captures and softens light in a way that machine-finishing simply cannot replicate. This raw, organic texture is contrasted by the architectural precision of the Toric’s signature knurled bezel, which, for this anniversary edition, is mirrored on the caseback for the first time.

The collection is anchored by the Toric Petite Seconde, a platinum masterpiece that strips the design down to its most essential elements. Set against a “Morning Blue” hammered dial, the watch is powered by the manual-wind Calibre PF780. In a rare display of opulence, the movement bridges are crafted from solid 18k rose gold and decorated with double hand-guilloché, visible through the sapphire caseback. This commitment to using precious metals for internal components elevates the movement from a mechanical tool to a piece of high jewelry.

For enthusiasts of complications, the Toric Quantième Perpétuel offers a masterclass in legibility. Housed in 18k rose gold with a “Bright Peony” dial, the perpetual calendar information is elegantly condensed into two coaxial sub-dials. This layout maintains the dial’s serenity despite the complexity of the movement. At the technical peak of the series sits the Toric Chronographe Rattrapante. Crafted in platinum with an “Agave Blue” dial, this high-frequency (5Hz) split-seconds chronograph allows for precision timing down to 1/10th of a second, driven by a movement featuring dual column wheels and openworked rose gold bridges.

In keeping with the significance of the milestone, each model in the Toric Anniversary Collection is limited to just 30 individually numbered pieces. This release reinforces Parmigiani Fleurier’s position not as a mass-market luxury brand, but as a dedicated sanctuary for “Purist” watchmaking, where the internal mechanics are just as precious as the exterior aesthetic.
