WatcheSmiles has dealt in new and pre-owned fine wristwatches from Hong Kong since 2011, though the habit behind it runs far longer. We concentrate on the rarer, more characterful end of the market — the references collectors actually talk about — and this is the whole of what we do. We love these watches: we collect them, we study them, we buy and sell them, and we are glad to talk about them at any length.

We are not an authorised distributor for any marque, and we think that independence works in your favour — our only loyalty is to the watch in front of us. Through contacts built up across the world over decades, we can reach pieces that never make it to a display case.

What we do

The person behind WatcheSmiles bought their first serious watch in the mid-1990s and never really stopped — close to thirty years of collecting now sits behind the business. That depth is the whole point: a wide circle of collectors we stay in regular contact with, and direct relationships with suppliers and fellow dealers. It means we hear about the good watches early, and it means the conversation with you sits at the centre of how we work, not at the edge of it.

No call centre, no intermediaries — you will be speaking to the person who owns the watch. Enquiries, photographs, valuations, and requests for a particular reference are all handled personally, usually within hours. WhatsApp is the quickest way to reach us; email is just as welcome.
